Aug. 12th, 2007 09:41 pmOther Kenjari and I finally got to see Harry Potter 5 this weekend. I thought it was quite well done, even if it did feel a bit abridged or condensed. However, given the increased length and complexity of the last three books, I think we're going to have to get used to that. Imelda Staunton was very good as Prof. Umbridge - she made her style of evil quite chilling and a terrific contrast to Voldemort and the Death Eaters. I loved the scene with Umbridge and McGonagle on the stairs - it was a wonderful example of letting the visuals rather than the dialogue tell the story. Also, I love Alan Rickman.

Me: Alan Rickman would be wonderful. He can do anything!
OK: Including you?
Me: Um, I plead the fifth. ;)
