This is the 14th Psy-Changeling paranormal romance and there is a lot going on in it. Aden and Zaira, two Arrows (elite psy special ops force), find themselves beat up and held prisoner in the middle of nowhere. Escaping and surviving exposes a dangerous conspiracy that threatens the fragile post-Silence order, creates a new alliance between the arrows and a changeling pack, and shifts Aden and Zaira's relationship onto new ground.
I enjoyed this novel, which worked well as both a romance and a thriller. Aden, Zaira, and the Arrows have to overcome the threat of the conspiracy before too many people die. At the same time, they have to figure out how to navigate their true feelings for each other and the strong bond that is developing between them. The conspiracy isn't the only hurdle they face - they also must deal with the damage their lonely, cold, and, in Zaira's case, abusive childhoods did to them. I really liked how committed they were to each other despite their doubts and fears about their ability to love and have a healthy relationship. Aden and Zaira both grow a lot and support each other the whole way. The conspiracy plot was also very good, especially the way it brought new and old characters together.
