Set in 1885 Wyoming, this historical romance follows Regan Carmichael, who has arrived in the small town of Paradise as a mail-order bride to widowed doctor Colton Lee and step-mother to his young daughter Anna. Regan and Colton's relationship starts off somewhat rockily, as she accidentally shoots him in the shoulder in a case of mistaken identity. However, given Anna's positive reception of Regan, they decide to make a go of it even in the face of disapproval and hostility from some of the twonsfolk. Despite Colton's doubts that he could love again, passion sparks between he and Regan and deeper feelings develop as a result.
I enjoyed this romance - it was very sweet and warm. I like how Regan and Colton worked to make their arrangement successful and how he supported her in navigating relationships with the town. I also enjoyed watching Regan, Colton, and Anna become a close family unit. It was a very good story about building a love and a life together.
