A Lady for a Duke
by Alexis Hall

This historical romance takes place just a couple of years after Waterloo. Justin de Vere, Duke of Gracewood, survived the war but is trapped in grief for the friend he lost on the battlefield. Viola Carroll allowed herself to be presumed dead at Waterloo, taking the opportunity to finally be her true self, but sacrificing wealth, title, and her oldest and dearest friendship. When Viola and Gracewood re-encounter one another, long-buried feelings and a new relationship emerge, but the barriers they must overcome are considerable.
A Lady for a Duke was amazing. The feelings were so big and so deep. Both Viola and Gracewood were people I loved and rooted for. There was witty banter. There was sweetness and passion and grand gestures. It was nigh-on perfect.

When Repo the genetic opera is basically a true story: you look at these other made up sort of stories about someone bad happening with resolution scenarios... which one wonders if actually occurred at some point, and just have to say: "this is too much, I actually need utopia(nism)".
