by Jasmine Guillory
Theo and Maddie are both close friends of Alexa, but they are not terribly fond of each other. Alas for them, they are both in Alexa's wedding and must work together on the event. But one night they kiss, end up in bed, and begin an affair that they agree is completely casual and will end after the wedding. They also decide to keep this secret from Alexa. As this is a romance novel, that's not what happens.
I found this novel enjoyable, but very light and breezy. I liked the people and the story, and was definitely rooting for the couple and their happy ending, but it didn't engage my emotions quite as much as some other romances. Theo and Maddie are both interesting, realistic characters. I like how their romance is not entirely about fixing or overcoming their flaws but about accepting them and softening them. I especially loved the scene at the end where Maddie and Theo get back together after having a falling out.
