by Tessa Dare
This historical romance pairs rakish viscount Colin Sandhurst and shy, bespectacled, intellectual Minerva Highwood on a madcap road trip to present her geological findings at a symposium in Edinburgh. Along the way, they encounter terrible weather, highwaymen, their own insecurities and issues, and their own growing feelings towards each other. This was a fun and very sweet romance. I liked the realistic portrayal of Minerva's insecurities and Colin's PTSD, and how these issues caused each of them to be a bit of a jerk to the other at times. I particularly liked the way they grew closer to and fell in love with each other - it was a real process and development and not always a straight line. I really believed in the strength of their love by the end.
