The Girl Who Raced Fairyland All the Way Home
by Catherynne M. Valente

This is the final volume in the Fairyland series, and it brings everything to a very satisfying conclusion. September has accidentally been crowned the Queen of Fairyland and finds she must compete in a race in order to keep the crown, despite her ambivalence about being Queen. Luckily, she has the help and companionship of A-through-L and Saturday. Along the way, September encounters many people and loose ends from the previous books and finds both help and hindrance from sometimes surprising sources.
This book is one of the best of the whole series. The plot is exciting, we get to see new and fascinating parts of Fairyland, and contemplate themes about time, memory, the nature of stories, and our relationships with them. It's all beautifully charming and wonderful.
