by Basil Deane
This very short book focuses on Cherubini's music. Deane gives a largely appreciative but also quite frank look at the composer's major works and general style in the genres of opera, church music, orchestral pieces, and chamber works. The brevity of the book precludes any lengthy analysis, and sadly, also precludes any substantial biographical information. However, it is a decent introduction to Cherubini and his music.
