I got my first grad school decision letter today, from the University of Michigan. It's pretty darn early for this; when I picked up the letter, I thought "I wonder what they want". I should of known, given the promptness, it was a rejection. :(
I pretty much figured that Michigan would reject me, so it's not that much of a disappointment. It's a very competitive, very small program for which I did no real schmoozing. I wasn't expecting an acceptance sight unseen. It wouldn't have been my first choice anyway.
Still, rejection letters are never fun. It's a blow to my confidence about the remaining three schools. Just what I need, more anxiety.
