Hidalgo

On Saturday Other Kenjari and I went to see Hidalgo. We both enjoyed it - Other Kenjari because it was a an action/adventure/western type thing, and me because of those things and, well, two hours of Viggo Mortensen riding a horse! I swear I have seen few people (at least in the movies) who look that good on a horse.
The movie itself is pretty good. It's an entertaining action-adventure movie: the directing is quite competent, the cinematography is actually rather lovely in some scenes, and the pacing is good. Sure, some of the thematic points border on the cliched (believe in yourself, snobs get their come-uppance), and there are perhaps a few too many reaction shots of the horse. Still, it's definitely worth seeing. And Viggo Mortensen is incredibly sexy.

Yes, I would see it again. Other Kenjari might not, but then again, he doesn't feel the same way about Viggo as I do ;)
