House of Flying Daggers

Other Kenjari and I just got back from seeing The House of Flying Daggers, Zhang Yimou's new film. He also did Hero, and this is another action movie in much the same style: historical setting, lots of martial arts, an eye for scenery. It's visually stunning, and the costumes are so good that I kept getting distracted from reading the subtitles. The point is rather inscrutable, but even if you don't get it, it's still well worth watching.
