Skryabin
by Hugh John MacDonald
This short book was very illuminating. It concentrates on Scriabin's music, giving only a thumbnail sketch of his biography. MacDonald looks at the music chronologically so that he can discuss Scriabin's development as a composer, and this approach is very successful. It was especially effective at showing both the composer's originality and his quirks.
