Back on the Horse, at least a little
Jun. 28th, 2009 04:17 pmI went back to practicing and playing piano on Thursday. It's going okay. Right now, I am limited to 15 minutes per day. So far, I have not had any real pain during playing or increase of pain as a result of it, which is good. I get a little bit of muscle fatigue, but not more than would be usual for resuming a physically demanding activity after being away from it for a while. I'm being really careful about my technique and trying to be very mindful of what I'm doing physically.
However, in some ways it is harder to practice for only a short period each day than it is to not practice at all. After two weeks, I have lost some ground with the pieces I've been working on. My instinct when encountering this is to work on the piece more, but I can't do that because of my current time limit. It's frustrating and weird.
