Various things
Jun. 20th, 2009 04:04 pmAt work yesterday, I was looking at a classroom schedule for one of the other summer programs, and came across an unfortunate course abbreviation: Remedial Harm.
I really need to make a point of visiting the Copley Square farmer's market. I got some good strawberries there yesterday after having lunch with my sister. Right now the vegetable stands have mostly greens, which I'm not much into, but once they start having more actual veggies, I should start planning meals around what I can get there.
I have discovered The Decembrists, and I love them. This was sparked by an article in the Globe a couple of weeks back about the return of the concept album. The Decembrists' new CD The Hazards of Love was among the albums discussed, and it sounded really intriguing, so Other Kenjari picked it up. It is so good. They have a rich sound that has a bit of a folky edge to it, and their songs are varied in sound and style. The story the CD tells is also very appealing to me: it involves star-crossed lovers, a forest, shape-shifting, a little magic, and mysterious characters.
