2 hours & a headache for nothing

kenjariI finally went to the Boston Police Headquarters today to look over the pawn sheets. My appointment was origianlly supposed to be last Wednesday, but it had to be rescheduled because the Boston PD decided not to allow visitors into the building during the DNC. Even at normal times, you have to go through a bag search and metal detector to get into the building.
So I looked through two enormous stacks of pawn sheets - everything reported since July 12. Nothing. One ring sounded similar but turned out to be three and a half sizes too big (the woman in charge of the pawn sheets is actually quite kind and sympathetic and called the pawn shop in question up while I was sitting there). All I ended up with was a big headache.
And unfortunately, the police said that if anything was to turn up in a pawn shop, it would have done so within the first week or two. So I guess my engagement ring, my godmother's necklace, and my grandmother's locket are really gone. :(
Well fuck.
