Great Weekend
Oct. 7th, 2008 04:38 pmDespite the way last week began, the weekend turned out to be fabulous. The weather was really nice and I spent some wonderful time with friends.
Saturday began with a nice rehearsal with
pantsie. Things are really starting to come together. Then we headed out to
dragonfeesh's bachelorette party. It started out a little unconventionally with high tea at the Taj. It was so lovely and relaxing. Plus, the Taj did an absolutely terrific job of accommodating my dietary needs in delicious ways (I had called earlier in the week to set it up) - they really went above and beyond. Then we walked around the Public Garden and Common a bit before heading back to the bride-to-be's place to prepare for the evenings amusements. We began with food and drinks at a pub in Kenmore Square, then had our hired limo pick us up for some clubbing. We started out at Jake Ivory's, a Landsdowne street piano bar. While the company was terrific, I was a little disappointed and bored by the music/show. The pianists were playing electric pianos pit into baby grand shells, and they were very much catering to a drunken college-student crowd. We got a lot of 80s and 90s hits cobbled into medleys. However, I really enjoyed the Roxy, where we finished out the night. It's a pretty nice dance club. I don't get to go out dancing a lot, so I made the most of it.
Sunday I went to tea at
sen_no_ongaku and
sigerson's place, joined by
pantsie. It's always such a great way to start out the month, and especially nice now that the cold weather has kicked in.
