This book looks at the life and work of Baroque Composer Antonia Bembo, who worked in Venice and then in Paris at the court of Louis XIV. Bembo is not well-known, despite the quality of her music, and this book ably illuminates her and her work as well as addressing issues of how women navigated the musical world of the Baroque era in their lives and their art.
