May. 28th, 2007 01:27 pmMy three day weekend started off quite nice. The weather is beautiful, and I had no set schedule, nowhere I hadf to be at a particular time.
On Friday, Other Kenjari and I went to see Pirates of the Carribbean 3 with
rather_amoosing and J, in pirate garb. The movie has some great action sequences, purty costumes, and great eye candy. But the plot is little more than spit and chewing gum holding it all together. There was potential, but none of it realized. It's fun to watch, though.
Saturday, Other Kenjari and I went down to where our new apartment is and took a walk around the neighborhood. It very quiet there - lots of trees and pretty older buildings. There's even a Buddhist temple and martial arts dojo a couple of blocks away. We scouted out restaurants, grocery stores, and other useful stuff. It's a great area.
That's about it for the good parts of the weekend, however. Yesterday I developed an ear infection, so I had to go to the ER (my regular doctor is closed until Tuesday, and this could not wait). At least the waiting room TV was tuned to the Red Sox game - watching them win was a pleasant distraction from the pain. I've got antibiotics and should be feeling better soon. I've been taking a lot of Tylenol, too, because this is wicked painful (they offered me Percocet in the hospital).
