Weekend Plans and Hopes
May. 28th, 2004 12:37 pmOther Kenjari and I are going down to CT this weekend to visit my parents and to finally pick up our wedding album (the photographer had it done shortly after Christmas, but it took us this long to be able to arrange a time to go get it).
I'm really glad that the weather is supposed to be good on Saturday and Sunday, because lately I have been filled with an intense desire to re-experience summer in the town where I grew up. I don't want to relive my childhood, or necessarily do things I did when I was living there. I just want to see and feel the wind in the trees, enjoy the view of green treetops from my old bedroom window, hear the sound of cicadas in the yard, and take a walk in the Arboretum (a nearby park owned by Conn College). I don't know what it is, but this year I really want to experience all these things, more than I ever have before. Maybe it's living in a city for so long. Maybe it's that going to grad school again will more than likely involve moving even farther away (and definitely away from New England).
