Saturday's game was lots of fun, if kind of tiring. I was an NPC for the combat-heavy game, so I got in lots of fighting and tromping around. My other role was an 11 year old girl who was a hook for the missing boy plot. She was a lot of fun to play, and I found myself taking a very light and humorous approach to the role. Oddly enough, though, the PCs had a strange lack of engagement with the townsfolk - they helped find the missing boy, but there were several opportunities to interact with or get information from the townspeople that they missed. I guess it was because the town itself was relatively free of problems and plot. They were also less paranoid than I'd assumed they'd be after the last game. But as a non-liaison NPC, it's not like I was privy to a lot of what the PCs were thinking and planning.
Hanging out at the Athenian afterward was great, especially since it gave me an opportunity to see the people who were involved with the other game that ran in parallel. Damn daylight savings time, though - it meant that I got very little sleep Saturday night. On the other hand, the weather was quite pleasing - it was so nice to be able to go outside without immediately freezing my ass off.

They didn't really interact with my characters much either. They didn't really trust Giovanni (which was fine since he was untrustworthy), but they hardly interacted with my ghost who was capable of giving some good history lessons. I figure it was because they were so focused on recovering the Dormiel that they didn't want to be distracted by subplots. Ironic, considering that it was the lack of focus after the final battle that let the Dormiel slip through their fingers....

They didn't really engage me, either. I spent the whole game with the PCs, but by the game's end my character only knew the names of perhaps 4 or 5 PCs -- all but one of which I learned by introducing myself to them and not the other way around. Attempts to make small talk ("So what brings you to Ulfhorst?") got reactions somewhere between detached evasiveness and stony rudeness.

I'm with Dave -- I suspect they were too distracted, and might also have been too paranoid about ratmen.

Not being in that group, I can't totally vouch for them. But I know that driving down with Matt S, he made a few points that Brad and Himself were going to be on the look out for Ratmen for much of the time. So, I think paranoia was ruling the day. Even my group thought we might of had a ratman at the museum.

That being said, it was cool to see everyone again, and wow, I wish I could have been in both games at the same time.
