We made extraordinarily good time going from Asheville back to the Raleigh-Durham airport, despite encountering an accident on the highway. So now we have over an hour to kill in the airport. WE had a really good time, but we're both feeling just about ready to go home and sleep in our own bed.
North Carolina has way more churches than I'm used to seeing eve in rural New England. It's mostly Baptist and Methodist down here. There are a lot more trailer parks, and there seems to also be a booming business in modular homes. Other Kenjari and I also saw the most non-sensical religious bumper sticker ever: it had a picture of a standard 55 mph sign with a red circle and slash superimposed over it and said, "There will be no speed limits during the Rapture". Huh?
We both feel like we could live happily in Durham for several years. And I feel like I could be very happy and accomplish a lot at Duke. Plus, we could go out to the mountains on a regular basis.
