Now that all the Red Sox games are on NESN, I can no longer watch them, since I don't have cable (and no, I'm not getting it, even for this). However, I can still keep up with the games. The guy upstairs apparently has cable. And his living room is directly above mine. On nights the Sox play, as I sit working at my computer, I can hear his cheers of joy and groans of disappointment. Every time I hear him reacting, that's my cue to flip over to Firefox and check the scores and game summaries on Yahoo. The Red Sox won, by the way, 9-3.

I was furious when the Red Sox sold out to NESN. So much for the 'great American pastime'; now it's the 'great wealthy American pastime.' I used to love watching games, but we can't afford cable! There will be some games on Fox starting in June...

Yeah, reading an internet posting about David Ortiz hitting a home run is not the same as watching him do it. I loved being able to take little breaks from composing or other work to watch bits of a game.

I totally agree. Baseball was supposed to be a game "for the people." Now the players make so much money (more than doctors-thats messed up!!!???). The average Joe can not participate. Its very sad.
