This is the sequel to Wolfskin. It follows the adventures of the children of the characters from the first volume as they journey to a fictionalized version of the Faroe islands and get involved in a mythical conflict between two of the peoples they find there. Like its predecessor, Foxmask is better in the second half. During the first half of the book, the main characters have too much growing up to do and are all too often just plain exasperating. Once they all begin to be affected by their trials, things get much more interesting. Foxmask also does a very good job of resolving the one thing left hanging at the end of Wolfskin in a way that is completely right without being completely predictable.
