School of Rock

Other Kenjari and I just watched School of Rock. We were thoroughly amused. When Jack Black is good, he's very, very good. And this was one of the times he was good. The movie also manages to make some good points and even be a little heartwarming, but without the treacle or smarm. I was especially amused by the School of Rock program Jack Black's character opens up at the end of the movie. Hmmm, Berklee for kids. The movie also brought me to one important realization: The Immigrant Song (by Led Zeppelin) is a damn good song. Even better, it's about Vikings. Really, it is.
