Back in the saddle, er, stage

For the first time in over ten years, I am going to get up on stage and perform on the piano in front of an audience, largely of strangers. On Tuesday, April 4th, at 8pm, I will play the piano part for
epilimnion's song at NEC. We had our first rehearsal today, and it went very well, so I think things will go well. I hope I don't end up with crippling stage fright. It's been a long time.
In other musical news, my sister told me that she and Lee Hyla had actually talked a bit about my application to NEC's DMA program. Apparently, the DMA committee (not the same as the composition department) decided to admit only one composition student to the program this year. According to my sister, Prof. Hyla said that the composition department had liked my music. It's very encouraging to hear that. After so many rejection letters over the years, it's hard not to start wondering if maybe I really do just suck. It's so heartening to hear that that is not the case.

Good luck to both of you. Not that you need much luck, mind you... the Devastating Duo of the Arts...
