Musical Activities
Jan. 29th, 2006 10:15 pmI had e-mailed Dr. Bell (my composition teacher at Boston Conservatory) to see if he could recommend someone to proctor my theory fellowship test. And he asked one of his colleagues at the New England Conservatory Prep program if he would do it, so I now have myself a proctor. Yay!
I also had a wonderful time this afternoon working on music with
pantsie. As a composer and pianist, most of music-making is of a rather solitary nature, so it is a real joy to make music with other people. The only thing better than making music is making music with your friends. We had lots of fun with the Mozart and Bartok. Even though our attempt at the Bach was kind of shaky, I think we got a lot out of it. I now have a much better sense of what to do with the piano part and where I need to practice more.
pantsie has a great voice, and she's delightful to work with. I'm really looking forward to getting together with her again soon.
