Last night I had lovely time with
hca and
pantsie. We had dinner at The Helmand. I hadn't been there in ages, which is a shame because the food is so yummy. I must figure out how to do the cardamom-flavored tea at home (do they just sprinkle in some powdered cardamom, or do they steep it with the tea?). Then we went to a late showing of Casanova. It's a light romantic comedy cast in the classical farce mode, with very pretty costumes and scenery. Very entertaining and lots of fun. And one of the morals of the story seems to be that smart women who know how to use a sword are the very best kind. And that's an idea I think all three of us can support. ;)
Most of the rest of the weekend will be devoted to preparing my Oregon (re)application. I need to make a few last revisions to Under Earth and get it ready for the printer on Monday. I also have to finish up the administrative end of things (fill out one last form, print out updated resumes, etc.). I've been concetrating so heavily on the portfolio aspect, that I have been rather absent-minded about the more mechanical aspects of this process. I think that's as it should be - it's the quality of my portfolio that will ultimately decide whether I get in or not.
