You would think that after operating for at least a century, the T would have figured out how to handle a little snow. But no. Every time it snows even a little, it seems like the T momentarily loses its footing.
I had to go out yesterday morning during the snowstorm. The train took a while longer than I expected to show up, but that wasn't such a big deal. After all, it was early on Sunday morning, and the snow was still coming down.
This morning, though, was unacceptable. I stood on the platform for over twenty minutes before a train came by. And out on the green line where I live, the stops are above ground, out in the open. It was 22 degrees out this morning. And then, when a train finally did come, not only was it packed, but it also went right by without stopping. The next train was not crowded at all, but it also went right by. Fortunately, the third train stopped, and wasn't particularly crowded, either. By that time, I had been out there for nearly half an hour. Needless to say, I was rather late to work today, so I'll have to stay later.
