Happy Earth Day
Apr. 22nd, 2004 12:39 pmI finally saw Lost in Translation last night. Great movie, both funny and bittersweet.
I work in a brand new shiny building in Cambridge. It's got all sorts of environmental features to make it energy efficient. It's also got lots of features that make it nice to work in, too, like a design that allows natural light to penentrate 75 feet into the building.
Anyway, even though we've been here since November, the grand opening is tomorrow. The company wanted it to coincide with Earth Day, because of all the environmental design. There is going to big a big ceremony with various speakers and dignitaries. I'm on the floor directly above the main entrance and lobby, right alongside the atrium, so I can here them setting up the stage and podium and testing the sound. Tomorrow my coworkers and I will have prime spots for watching all the goings-on. I just hope we're not expected to be getting a lot of work done then.
