More bits and pieces

Today is my wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, I am on the other side of the continent from Other Kenjari, and today is such a busy day that I will have no chance to call him during the times that would be acceptable for either of us. I did get to talk to him yesterday, though. We'll celebrate when I get home next week.

Last night at the pub, several of us came to the unsurprising conclusion that having gone to organ camp while in high school is in fact way dorkier than the more typical band camp.

One of the grad students here commented that my music was at the same level as other doctoral students at the University of Oregon.

On Friday, we are having a seminar session with the Kronos Quartet, who are giving a concert that evening. Life is good.

Oooh, Kronos! I'm envious. And things are boding well for your future acceptance... Yay!

Yeah, and the Kronos session is just the fourth in a lineup of great seminar sessions. so far we've had sessions with Osvaldo Golijov, Maria Guinand (she conducts the coir that does Golijov's passion), and pianist Robert Levin.
