It sure does feel good to have my piece done. Even if the ensemble has a few small questions that I must attend to this weekend. I've spent most my evenings this week just sitting on the couch and reading, with occasional spurts of random TV watching and playing on the computer.

I also have to start preparing some presentation-type stuff about my music for the Composers Symposium. The information I have says that we will be presenting about our music, but I have no idea what the context will be. And discussing my own music is very difficult - I'm too close to it and the processes surrounding it.

It finally looks as if the unseasonably nasty weather we've been having here is going to break. We actually saw some sunlight this morning! It's back to grey and cloudy now, but it is a somewhat brighter grey than yesterday. I'm beginning to feel like I'm in the Ray Bradbury story "All Summer In a Day".

I did venture out in the storm on Wednesday night to go to Dr. Bell's piano recital. I'm noticing that I tend to like his later works more than his earlier ones. And of course, it's always good to see him and Prof. Olmstead.

I plan to relish this long weekend. Work has been crazy lately and writing "I Want To Pull On Your Coat About Something" consumed my life for over a month, so I feel as if I have truly earned the extra day off. First up is dinner in Harvard Square with Other Kenjari, then the Ubiquitous family's going away party. Maybe with the extra time, I'll finally get around to posting some of the more thoughtful and substantive things kicking around in my head.
