This very short novella is set in a fictional steam-punk and magic Cairo. It centers around two agents from the Ministry of Alchemy, Enchantments and Supernatural Entities, Hamed and Onsi, and their investigation of a haunted tram car. It's a very straightforward story; the real beauty of it is in the characterization and world-building. Clark creates a fully-realized, lived-in world with great economy.
