by Ibram X. Kendi
In this book Kendi lays out how to go beyond being simply non-racist to being anti-racist and thus how to more towards true liberty and racial justice. He emphasizes racist policies born of self-interest as the true foundation of racism, rather than ignorance and hate. Kendi lays out his points with an abundance of clarity that makes his ideas very accessible. I especially loved the way he wove in his own experiences to introduce and illustrate his ideas, but also to demonstrate how to evolve one's thinking. Kendi not only provides a compelling analysis of racism in American society but also a way forward towards a truly equitable society.
