O Kenjari's Head, Now Wounded

kenjariThe company where I work never closes, so I went in this morning. I even left my house earlier than usual, knowing that the T would have delays. As a result, I got to work half an hour early, amazingly enough. Well, I got to the building, at least.
Just in front of the door, I either tripped or slipped and fell flat on my face. It happened extremely fast - I was standing up and then the next thing I knew, I had fallen right over, hard. I started to pick myself up, glad that my glasses had not broken. And then I noticed the blood falling on the snow, like rain. It was dripping off my forehead. Luckily, I could tell that my eye was not injured. I called for help a couple of times, but since it was so early, there was no one around.
So I got up and walked through the door of the building, holding my gloved hand to my head and bleeding profusely. The security guard at the front desk was pretty alarmed. He got me some paper towels to staunch the blood and called 911. While I was waiting, I also had him call Other Kenjari.
The ambulance came pretty quickly. On the way back out of the building, I noticed that I had left a trail of blood drops between the door and the front desk.
I went to the hospital and got nine stitches in my head, above my left eyebrow. I'll have a scar, too. For now, I have a black eye and look like Franken-kenjari. It hurts and I've got a headache, but no concussion and no other injury. It could have been worse.
Oddly enough, this is the first time I've ever had stitches.
I actually went back to work after getting stitched up. I feel okay except for the hurty head. My boss has filed the accident report, and everyone has been pretty solicitous. Oh yeah, and they cleaned up the blood from the lobby floor.
