This is the second to last of the Parasol Protectorate series, and this time we find Alexia full reconciled with Conall, hugely pregnant, and on the trail of a mysterious assassination attempt that is brewing in London. Like its predecessors, Heartless is a lot of fun, and it's nice to have the adventure set back in London. I enjoyed finding out more about the world and the character's backgrounds, as that is an important part of Alexia's investigations. And I always like seeing a pregnant woman as an active protagonist fully participating in the adventure rather than being sidelined by her condition. I'm quite curious as to how the series is going to wrap up.
