This sapphic romance novella is something of a sequel to A Princess in Theory. Likotsi, advisor and assistant to the prince of Thesolo, is on vacation in New York, nursing a broken heart from a short affair she had the last time she was in the city. When she encounters her ex Fabiola on a stalled subway train, she agrees to a cup of tea with Fabiola. They spend the rest of the day together, kindling a second chance to be together.
This novella was very sweet. It's very compact, doing a lot in just 120 pages, without feeling rushed. I like how confident yet tender Likotsi is - she's such a wonderful mix of swagger and softness. Although it took them a while to get to it, I really loved how they talked through what happened when they first got together. Their happily ever after feels earned and true.
