This short, enjoyable book examines several aspects of Debussy's piano piece "Clair de Lune". Bhogal covers not just the content of the work itself, but also many cultural aspects that influenced and inspired the work, as well as how the piece has been used in American popular culture. I especially loved the examination of the ways the moon is invoked in 18th and 19th century poetry and painting and how that relates to "Clair de Lune".
