The Sanctuary Sparrow
by Ellis Peters

This is the seventh Cadfael mystery, and its an enjoyable one. All the usual elements are there: an unjustly accused man, couples in love but with obstacles in their way, and a complicated murder mystery to solve. I particularly liked this one because one of the characters is a traveling musician and because the murderer was actually a sympathetic character, in that I really felt that the person had a legitimate grievance. I also really enjoyed the way Peters delves into the complicated internal relationships and dynamics of one lower-middle class family.
