by Maggie Stiefvater
This is the third book of The Wolves of Mercy Falls, and it wraps up the main story arc (there is a fourth book, but it is a new storyline). Grace and Sam must face their final hurdle to being together and having a future as humans: a wolf hunt planned by one of the town bigwigs to rid the woods of the pack, and they still have to work out the mysteries of what makes them turn into wolves and how they can stay human. Luckily they have Cole and Isabel alongside them.
I liked Forever better than Linger and almost as much as Shiver. Stiefvater's writing is still very good, and I loved every one of the characters. Even better, Forever had more going on - the characters were more active and everything had more immediacy and even urgency. And although the ending was a bit ambiguous, I really liked the way it was wide open and filled with possibility - just the way Sam and Grace's lives should be at that point.
