This book uses the compelling story of two rival stage magicians in late-Victorian England to explore themes about secrets, deception, and what is revealed versus what is concealed. There's a lot going on in this novel, but any more detail would require lots of spoilers. I found it quite riveting and fascinating, and the plot and secrets kept me guessing right up to the end. I highly recommend it. Plus, a film version is coming out in October.
