by Johnny Cash (with Patrick Carr)
I have come to like Johnny Cash and his music quite a bit in the last ten years. I especially liked his last recordings on the American Records label. So I was quite happy to get this book for Christmas this year. It's not a typical autobiography: it's much less a historical account of Cash's life than a series of reminiscences and reflections on a long, interesting, and fruitful life. It's written in a very natural, flowing, conversational style that brings Johnny Cash into close focus as both a musician and a man.
