The Mabinogion Tetralogy
by Evangeline Walton

I finished this up right before leaving for Kansas City, so I can't give a terribly detailed review, as that seems like ages ago.
I liked reading this book a lot. Having been to Wales and read the Guest translation of the Mabinogion, I found it very easy to imagine the people and events in the book. Walton does an excellent job of re-telling the legends - she makes the characters come to life, and her prose flows well. She remains true to the spirit and intent of the stories while cutting out the forumlaic repetitions that many ancient tales have and the long lists of things that the Mabinogion tends to contain.
