Bits of the week
Mar. 16th, 2007 11:38 pmOther Kenjari and I got the special treat of seeing
ashears this week! The three of us had dinner with
r_ness and
bedfull_o_books (I think I've matched up the person and lj name properly. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.) at Rangoli, our terrific neighborhood Indian restaurant. WE followed that up with a trip across the street to the Sunset for drinks. It was a terrific, mellow evening. It's great when Wednesday night feels like Friday night. And hurray for seeing
ashears twice in the span of seven months!
I've started work on my next composition project, a piece for cello and guzheng (a zither-like instrument from China). It's my first attempt to write for a non-western instrument, and it's also turning into my first foray into polytonality.
Um, Mother Nature, where's the real spring and what have you done with it?
