Assorted minor updates

My piano is still broken. Apparently, Young Chang, the Korean company that made my piano, no longer stocks the part for the damper pedal mechanism. And my tuner couldn't find one through other source. So Young Chang has to make one special for my piano, which they are doing. Needless to say, this is going to take a while. By the time my tuner has the part, the piano will need another tuning anyway.

Other Kenjari and I are going to the Quest game this weekend. I'm excited enough to have anxiety dreams about not making it there through random and surreal twists of fate.

Tomorrow night I'm going to be helping my sister rehearse a singer for an upcoming music recital. I don't know if I'm going to be in the recital itself yet, though. Yay for making music with other people.

I've started work on "Burning the Harvest", a string quartet based on a Polish folk song. It's going well so far. Composing feels good - even though taking breaks is good for restoring the creative energies, I do feel better mentally and emotionally when I'm working on something.

Hey, I'm one of those once and future sometime Quest goers too (though I'm not a Wes grad so we wouldn't have met anywhere else around Wes), and I thought I'd ask if we've ever met before. It's unlikely, but I also live in Northampton, and you live in Amherst, and thought I should ask for that reason, too cuz actually knowing people in your area is nice and I miss it.

(I have a feeling neither of us can answer this but that perhaps our friends can....)

I live in Amherst, but only for the past two years while I'm in grad school at UMass. I was in the Cambridge area before that for many years. Most of my Quest gaming was actually in 1996 or so, and then one game in 2001, and now this one.

I don't think that the two of you have met. digitalemur, were you at 10,000 Daggers? That was the last Quest game alphacygni went to.
I think the two of you would get along well, though. So..

Kessalyn, my dwarven cleric/fighter. The GMs were given a brief write-up of her character background.
Other Kenjari is playing Stefan.
The set-up reminds us of a certain sci-fi movie and TV show, so we've been referring to the game as "DwarfGate SG-1". Of course, we know better than to assume that the game will actually reflect said TV show. ;)
